Very rare RAINGO FRERES mantel clock - Raingo Freres - Fire gilded bronze - Approx. 1820-1830

Description
Very rare RAINGO FRERES mantel clock - Raingo Freres - Fire gilded bronze - Approx. 1820-1830
Mechanical - 8 day movement - A bell on the hour and half

Raingo Freres was a Parisian clockmaker who made his clocks in Ghent and Paris in the early 19th century. This fire-gilded bronze mantle clock has a very detailed cut out. Especially the dial is very refined and nicely equipped with undamaged cartouches. Even at the foot a lot of attention was paid to decorative carving. The clock is still very nice in the gilding and can become even more beautiful if it were professionally cleaned. The timepiece is signed Raingo Freres and also both the clock and the movement are numbered. This indicates that this work of art is in completely original condition. The string timepiece and the facet cut glass door are in good working condition. The clock runs nicely on time. Only the spring of the percussion needs to be relaxed. Despite the age of the clock, it shows minor signs of old age. The photos give a clear picture of the quality.
