2 volumes in a single book in 4º (23.4 x 18 cm) bound in antique rigid parchment, embossed fleuron on the covers, spine with ribs and red spine label: Ant. Matthaeus. De Nobilitate.

12 sheets, including two-colour title page (red and black), 1,151 pp., 28 unnumbered sheets between pages 768 and 769, where the second half begins. 27 copper engraved, many of them full page, and several wood engraved in the text.

A historical treatise on the nobility of the diocese of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Two of the full-page chalcographic engravings show officials and militiamen from the city of Utrecht, with the banner and coat of arms and many illustrations of their stamps and medals. The author was a lecturer of law at the universities of Leiden and Utrecht.
