1588 First Edition, Francofurdi : Apud Andreae Wecheli heredes, Claudium Marnium, & Ioann. Aubrium MDLXXXVIII.
pp: , XXVIII, 893, p. Title-page publisher’s device, section headpieces, end-pieces, ornate initial letters.
Folio (216mm X 205mm) sized volume in contemporary full sheep, spine has five raised bands and red label with gilt lettering.
Binding copy with complete text and block in a very decent condition. Front board present yet is detached; rear board however is firmly attached and has wear to extremities along with some surface leather loss to upper left corner. Significant leather loss to spine, spine label present albeit split and lifting in the middle. Sturdy block with all leaves securely attached and generally in a clean and clear, slightly age-goldened condition, although a small number of leaves from the inner, front, and rearmost sections have toned a little darker. Some leaves also show the occasional spot or two while some others show light speckling or pale blotches. A rebind should prove well worthwhile.
