Salvador Dalí said of this work on Don Quijote in an interview with the E. M. Alvy-Leleu for the Cité de Bruxelles: ‘Our meeting was inevitable. Don Quijjote was possessed by the same kind of madness as I, a systematic delirium, a need for precision that can only be explained by the paranoid-critical method ’.
