Obverse: Bust of Frederick Henry with the circumscription FRED.HENR. D.G.PRI.AV. (Frederik Hendrik by the grace of God prince of Oranje)
Reverse side: three lilies within circle and with the legend DOVBLE TOURNOIS 1640
As opposed to the Republic, where the stadtholders weren't allowed to depict their portrait on the coins, the Princedom of Orange did allow for depicting the portraits of the Oranje family. Here is a beautiful portrait of Frederik Hendrik ('De Stedendwinger'), sun of Willem van Oranje and stadtholder of Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Gelderland and Overijssel.
Beautiful coin with many details!
