Ca. 200-300 AD, An amazing Gandharan schist stone panel with seated Bodhisattva on a decorated throne. Buddha wears voluminous monk robe with beautifully flowing folds. His head is framed with nicely arranged headpiece and surrounded by halo. A great face features, elongated earlobes, fine jewelry. The surface on the reverse is flat, which indicates that the figure was attached to some other surface, rather than free standing. Size: L:400mm / W:220mm ; 11.1kg Good Condition, some re polishing of surfaces . Provenance: Property of a W.L.C; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1970s.
