A rare and lovely small bilingual edition, in Greek and Latin, printed in parallel columns. Illustrated with numerous (72?) lovely woodcut figures.
These are the woodcuts made for the 1582 edition printed by Jean de Tournes, in this edition 11 were added and 5 were redrawn. The 1605 edition is illustrated with 61 woodcuts.
In good condition, in period binding.

Supple full vellum binding, mute smooth spine.
A sound and clean volume, the leather of the binding is a bit aged, the front joint is pierced but nothing of consequence, the attachments of the covers are missing. Inside: the title page is faded, friction with small lacks on the edges. Slightly yellowed paper, some leaves are browned, some rare signs of handling but otherwise fresh. In good overall condition.
Provenance: Bibliothecae S[anc]ti Launomari Blesensis (Blois. Abbaye de Saint-Laumer) with mounted and handwritten bookplate on the title page + heraldic bookplate of de Bourgevin.
