Aoki Mokubei (1767-1833) was a famous Japanese painter and ceramist of the 18th and 19th centuries. He excelled in imitating Chinese ceramic techniques, and also excelled in painting. Many museums in Japan have his works, such as the Tokyo National Museum!
This piece comes with a signed wooden box, perfectly preserved!
