This is a Fantastic signed original pen and ink 3 panel Modesty Blaise strip drawn by Neville Colvin in 1983.

This is one of the strips nearing the end of the story ‘Death on Slow Motion’ published in the Evening Standard between Feb 1983- July 1983.

Inspector Brook and his 17 year old daughter have been kidnapped by the evil Cyrena Aquilina. They have been taken to die slowly in the Sahara desert… here, Modest Blaise and her man at arms Willie Garvin are swooping to the rescue.

It is rare indeed to find signed strips by Neville Colvin, who had a tendency to only sign a few every story he drew.

Colvin draws Modesty here with her early chignon hairstyle, and the 3 panels work brilliantly together with the action in the centre and a close up portrait of Modesty in the final space.

This strip has been drawn on a thin Bristol type board or inking paper, so has not been skimmed off a backing board which is often the case.
