Unknown (19th century) - Portrait of a young woman wrapped in a veil

Unknown (19th century) - Portrait of a young woman wrapped in a veil

Splendid 19th century pre-rafaelithic painting of a young woman, perhaps Pieter Cornelis de Moor (Rotterdam 1866- St.James New York 1953).
The work is very similar to a number of similar paintings and is annotated at the back with P.C. de Moor. Pieter Cornelis de Moor lived and worked in Rotterdam, Belgium, The Hague, Leiden, Italy, Egypt, Palestine, Tunis, Algiers, Laren. Florence and Saint James (USA). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam and at the Drawing Academy in Antwerp
The painting is absolutely fantastic and very well painted in oil on panel. The panel size is ca. 30x22 cm. The painting is framed in the original frame, and both frame as well as the painting are exceptional condition.
