William Kroon was born in Utrecht on November 8, 1946. He visited the Free Academy in The Hague (1965-1966) for a short time but as a painter he could not feel happy back then.
After many jobs he ended up as a technical assistant at an American oil rig in the North Sea, where he suffered a serious accident.
In the rehabilitation center in Heerenveen he got back in the job of painting, first as occupational therapy and, increasingly, in fulfillment of his day job.
After his recovery he has significantly improved the quality of his work through drawing and lots of outdoor painting.
The famous Makkum pottery and the Frisian clocks had only his interest for some time, but he felt it still too much for decoration and could not express himself in his own will to create.
The oil paint changed this and Willem Kroon has a strong future ahead as an artist.
Canvas is slightly loose. Frame deviates slightly at the lower right.
