Beautiful oil painting of Abraham Segaar (1888-1962) in impressionist style and in the original list. The painting was put down with smooth virtuoso brush strokes and colors eyes still very fresh, the condition of the panel and the list is still very good, signed lower left; A. Segaar. This water landscape with boat was probably painted around 1930 in the surroundings of Giethoorn where he was regularly employed. Check out the photos for an overall impression.

Segaar studied at the Free Academy in Leiden, later received Laren lesson HM Krabbé and lived and worked in Leiden, Laren, Blaricum, Veere and Bruges and after 1922 in Nieuwkoop. He spent the summer often in Giethoorn and mainly painted landscapes in a naturalistic style. He got up to 3 times the Royal Grant (1910, 1911 and 1912) and was a member of various artists' associations.
