I have for sale PAPERS RELATING TO THE NAVY DURING THE SPANISH WAR 1585 - 1587 edited by JULIAN CORBETT . This FIRST EDITION was published in 1898 by the Navy Records Society ( with a note at the front of the book ' announces for last year, has been unavoidably delayed, but is now issued on the 1897 subscription) . With a frontispiece plate of Plan of the Operations at Cadiz 1587. The documents collected in the present volume fall into three groups i: Papers relating to Drake's Indies Voyage 1585-6, ii Papers relating to his Cadiz Voyage 1587, iii Miscellaneous Papers relating to the mobilisation and general administration of the navy at the outbreak of the war.

Bound in cream linen boards with blue linen spine. Gilt stamp to the front board. Gilt title lettering to the spine. Light shelf wear evident. This book is in very good conditioin tightly bound with no loose or missing pages. 363, 2pp 24cm x 16 cm

This is a wonderful leather binding! Full calf leather with a gilt border and gilt school crest to the front board. 5 gilt bands, gilt tooling, dark brown leather title block and gilt lettering to the spine. Red tinted page edges and marbled endpapers. Minor foxing to prelims and flyleaf. In fine condition inside and out. 639 pages, 22 x 14 cm.
