Score of the musical composition Marxa catalana Nº 1, per a gran banda, composed by J. Lamote de Grignon, Conductor of the Municipal Band of Barcelona. Addressed to the honourable Mr Antonio Martínez Domingo.

Joan Lamote de Grignon i Bocquet (Barcelona 1872–1949) was a Spanish pianist, composer and conductor.

In 1911 he founded the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and also conducted it. He conducted the Berlin Philharmonic in 1913. He was the successor of Celestí Sadurní as conductor of the Municipal Band of Barcelona since 1914. From there, he promoted young performers and endowed the Band with a remarkable repertoire with great recognition, even in Europe. Three years later, he was appointed director of the Liceo Conservatory in Barcelona. In 1943 he founded the Municipal Orchestra of Valencia, and conducted it until 1949.

His compositional work comprises about one hundred and fifty songs, the oratorio La nit de Nadal (1906), the lyrical drama Hespèria (1907), a symphonic trilogy, a symphony, a mass for two voices and organ, motets and spiritual songs, the processional march Santa María de Ripoll and the piano work El parc d'atraccions.

Joan Lamote de Grignon’s collection is kept in the Library of Catalonia.
