. By Juan Antonio de Vera y Figueroa Y Zuniga.
. Published by Josse de Griek in Brussels.
. Volume I (of II) alone of the first reedition, 1700.
. Sextodecimo (13.7 x 8.2 cm).

Period glazed sheepskin binding, worn corners, caps and joints,
rubbed covers, worn ribbed spine and missing title, lacks of leather,
however, the binding is sound and the book block holds well, fresh inside and
text in good condition, minute spots of foxing.
Modest binding.

Illustrated with a frontispiece and 4 fold-out plates, very lovely engravings
by Harreuyn, in good condition.

- The author's grandfather was very close to Charles V, and
Vera y Figueroa drew many anecdotes from this
relationship, which was the basis of his biography of the emperor.
The title, which refers to the novels of chivalry, tends to place
Charles V among the figures of legendary heroes.
