Obverse: the obverse depicts King Frederick III looking to the right above the abbreviation of the mint. It is inscribed "FRIEDRICH DEUTSCHER KAISER KÖNIG V. PREUSSEN".
Reverse: a small crowned imperial eagle with Prussian coat of arms eagle on its chest is situated on the reverse. The inscription includes the name of the country "DEUTSCHES REICH", the year and the nominal value "FÜNF MARK" between two stars.
