The design continues to feature the iconic "Walking Liberty" goddess by Adolph A. Weinman, striding towards the rising sun. The American bald eagle is featured on the reverse.
In 2021, to mark its 35th anniversary, the American eagle takes on a new shining look for the first time since its introduction. The new design was created by AIP designer Emily Damstra and features a majestic eagle that appears to be alight, holding an oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "1OZ. FINE SILVER - ONE DOLLAR" surround the eagle. III
