Oscar Hamel et Isidore / Oscar en Isidoor - Originele pagina (p.42) - L'oncle du Tchad / De Geheimzinnige Gids - (1949)
A very rare original page from Oscar and Isidoor by Frédéric-Antonin Breysse. A French artist who regularly quarreled with Hergé, because of the similarity of Oscar to Tintin, but also because of the similarity of the moon story 'The Battle against the Moon Dragons' by Breysse with 'Men on the Moon' by Hergé, where it is remarkable that the former appeared much earlier than the latter.
A top page, with a lot of dynamics and details.
Breysse's style is unparalleled and highly refined. Beautiful lines and extremely detailed.
First published in Coeurs Vaillants in 1949 (Oscar et Isodore Hamel, l'Oncle du Tchad)
First appearance in album in France is 1952
In the Netherlands in album: Spaarnestad-edition 1959 (see last photo).
The page was once cut up (like all plates from this story) and later reassembled in the old form. Very neatly done.
Here and there some light discolouration in the paper.
The page will be very carefully packaged and sent by registered mail (with extra insured value).
Albums (see the last 3 photos), are for illustration purposes and are NOT included.
This page is numbered 42 . A museum piece!!
