Kuijpers, Henk - Origineel coverontwerp - Franka deel 8 - "De ondergang van de Donderdraak" - (1986)
Henk Kuijpers (born December 10, 1946 in Haarlem) is a Dutch comic author, best known for the series Franka. His work shows similarities with the ligne claire style of Hergé. The comic Het Misdaadmuseum by Kuijpers appeared in episodes in Pep magazine in 1974. It is based on the story of the film company and one of the characters that is taken is the red-haired secretary. Her name is now Franka, an archaeologist by profession, and she is one of the characters in the comic. Het Misdaadmuseum stands out because of its fine details. Both characters and sets are perfectly fleshed out. The scenery is sometimes based on real existing locations. Already in the second adventure, Het Meesterwerk, it is clear that Franka has become the main character. In the course of the adventures, she will grow from a caricatured cartoon character to a much more realistically drawn character. When Pep merges with Sjors and is given the new name Eppo, Franka's adventures appear in the latter magazine. In 1978, the first Franka albums were published by Oberon, Het Misdaadmuseum and Het Meesterwerk.
