The original of the codex Barb. Lat 487 has been attributed to the Rouen school, built in 1510 in northern France.
This book of hours of the Barberini collection and one of the more noteworthy works of French book art towards the Renaissance, both for its layout and for the condition. The calendar exactly follows the readings from the four Gospels. The second door portrays the psalms of contrition, the funeral office and the memories of the saints. Reproduction of the manuscript in the original format (14.3x21.4 cm - 212 pages) with the process of transferring gold into leaf.
Leather binding with gold decorations. Worldwide limited edition: 1280 copies numbered and certified by the Vatican Apostolic Library.
