An extremely rare comic made in 1952 in an edition of presumably 100 copies.
52 pages.
Only available upon release to those who filled in a crossword puzzle perfectly.
In 1950, Sleen created the character Doris Dobbel as a weekly gag comic for the magazine “De Middenstand”, the former magazine of UNIZO. The series appeared in the magazine until 1967.
The most legendary Dutch comic strip (cf. Matla comic catalogue) in exceptional condition
For the sake of completeness, the staples have come loose at the front but are still firmly attached to the book block and the back cover.
On November 30, 2015, a copy of the comic book De Vrolijke Avonturen van Doris Dobbel was purchased on Catawiki for €16,500. This makes it the most expensive comic in Dutch ever to date.
Previously, other copies at auctions sold for €12,000 in 2010 and €9,700 in 2002.
