François Joseph, baron Bouvet de Précourt ( 1753 Lorient - 1832 Brest ) naval officer under the orders of Suffren in the East Indies, he rallied to the Revolution. He was made rear-admiral in 1793
and fought in the naval battle of 13 prairial An II (1794) against Lord Howe.
He led the Irish expedition to liberate the Irish from the English yoke in December 1796, this to Bantry Bay (Ireland, Dursey Island) but could not dock because of the storm and had to return to Brest.
It was the ship Le Nestor, Arsenal of Brest (1810-1849).
The first Le Nestor renamed Le Cisalpin (1797) then L’Aquilon (1803) having been burned by the English in 1809.
