Seventh edition. 329 dishes. Approx. 21 x 13 cm. XVI p., 480 pp. With an engraved frontispiece. Contemporary cardboard cover. The popular Austrian cookbook contains 1769 recipes. The pretty frontispiece shows a kitchen scene. Binding rubbed and somewhat scuffed. Pages browned and foxed. "Gedünstete Hirschohren: Siede den Hirschkopf im Wasser ab, putze ihn sauber, schneide das Fleisch von den Knochen herab, schneide es schön klein länglich, gib es in ein Reindel, gib Limonieschälerl, ein wenig Muskatblühe, ein halbes Seidel Wein und eben so viel Wasser, etliche ausgelöste Zibeben und Weinbeerl dazu, laß es gut kochen, walze ein Stückel Butter im Mehl, gib es darein, laß es gut versieden, und richte es auf eine Schüssel."
