A magnificent sculpture of a disciple of Buddha, 18th century, Amarapura, Myanmar.
Amarapura or "City of the Immortals" is an ancient capital of Myanmar, in the Mandalay Region.
Built in 1783, it was the capital of the Third Burmese Empire until 1823.
Very lovely bronze with superb details. Ancient patina.
The eyes still contain some traces of mother-of-pearl.
In good condition for its advanced age.
