History of the model
In 1957, after a fire that destroyed numerous coupé and cabriolet bodies in the Jaguar factory, the Coventry company took the opportunity to modify and present the new XK150 to the market in 1958, initially available in coupé versions, with the initials FHC (Fixed Head Coupé) and convertible with the initials DHC (Drop Head Coupé).
On both versions, seats were installed at the rear, like a folding seat, which made it possible to carry three other passengers unlike the two on the roadster.
Production ended in October 1960, after 7,929 examples were produced, of which 2,489 convertibles, 4,101 coupes and 1,339 roadsters.
The XK150 came out of the list in 1961, replaced by another model that would make motoring history: the E-Type.
