Important papal bull by Pius VI with his coat of arms in the bull in lead (without the lid).
Pius VI was pope from 1775 to 1799. This bull is dated 14 July (?) 1777 and very certainly is of a regulatory nature. The text is entirely in Latin, the wax seal has two coats of arms: the large coat of arms of Pius VI at the top and the small one, badly struck or with a small piece missing, is that of Jacques Filomarino, Prince of Rocca, Abbot of Saint Jean de Flore.
The back of the document has some inscriptions authenticating the document, dated from the 25th and 26th August 1777:
- Sollier conseiller du roi
- Reynaud, "banquier exped. en cour de Rome"
- Delafould, du greffe
- Teste (large signature)
- Regibaud qui enregistre le document au registre des bulles de la cour de parlement de Provence.
The seal is unfortunately broken and the lower part is detached. The document has holes at the folds.
Nevertheless, a rare document.
