This illustrated collection, carefully published by Louis Janet, contains previously unpublished texts (in first edition) in verse or in prose by Théophile Gautier, Paul Lacroix, Jules Janin, Ernest Fouinet, Paul Foucher, A. Le Mire, Alfred de Musset, V. Pavie etc.

Adorned with eight tipped-in engravings on steel, based on J. Cawsz, Stone, Colin, Richter etc etc.

This work is part of collection of 12 volumes published from 1823 to 1836.

Bradel binding, cream colour, adorned on the boards and the spine with a rich stamped decoration in gilded stamping in the romantic style, all edges gilt. Quite complete with the rigid slipcase also stamped with different gilded stamping.

Sturdy volume, binding in very good condition despite signs of handling on the boards, the headcaps are slightly rubbed, one corner is a little worn. The slipcase is sturdy, faded, slightly rubbed corners. Remains in very good condition. Fresh interior, foxing in the upper margin. The paper of the plates is browned with light foxing. The rest is impeccable.
