Märklin H0 - 26506 - 7-piece train set "Rheingold"
Running number locomotive: 18 434
"Express train for the Nibelungen"
The legendary Nibelungen treasure was the inspiration for the most famous luxury trains in Europe. On May 15, 1928, the first "Rheingold" drove from Amsterdam/Hoek van Holland to Basel.
It was hauled by a Bavarian Series S 3/6-Pacific locomotive. According to the regulations of the time, no compartment carriage was allowed to run directly behind the locomotive, but a luggage carriage had to be placed there for safety reasons. In order to avoid the necessary shunting manoeuvres at the head-end stations that were common at the time, a baggage carriage was simply hung at the beginning and end of the train
One-off set from 1998, released on the occasion of 70 years Rheingold.
Perhaps one of the most beautiful train sets ever released by Märklin. This "Rheingold" train set consists of an express train locomotive with towed tender of the series S 3/6 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG), 1 luggage carriage without closing light, 4 salon carriages with illuminated table lamps and 1 luggage carriage with closing light.
The locomotive is equipped with a C90 decoder, sound module and high performance drive. Suitable for both analogue and digital use. Both the desired maximum speed, the acceleration/deceleration speed, as well as the address for the multi-train operation can be set on the locomotive's decoder. The lighting is digitally switchable and changes with the direction of travel. Finally, the sound module, providing the locomotive with a whistle and bell as sound. Both of course can only be switched in digital mode.
The highly detailed carriages are largely made of tinplate and equipped with interior lighting. The salon carriages have illuminated table lamps, one of the luggage carriages also has closing lights. Powered by pickup shoe under both luggage carriages and current-conducting couplings (supplied separately).
I can be brief about the condition of this set. It is as good as new. There is no paint or breakage damage present and the pickup shoe / wheels show no wear. See the many pictures for a good impression.
All functions have been tested and work as is to be expected. The locomotive is currently set to address 18.
The set comes with a beautiful, original box, booklets and a bag with couplings.
Will be shipped via registered mail with PostNL.
