------------------------------------
Émile Adolphe Gustave Verhaeren, born in Saint-Amand in the province of Antwerp (Belgium) on 21 May 1855 and died by accident in Rouen on 27 November 1916, was a French-speaking Flemish Belgian poet.
In his symbolist-influenced poems, in which he used free verse, his social consciousness, which was similar to that of anarchism, led him to evoke the great cities of which he spoke lyrically in a highly musical tone. He was able to reflect the beauty of human effort in his work. (See Wikipedia)
