Louis de La Roque - Catalogue des Chevaliers de Malte - 1891

First edition of this rare and precious work, it is a catalog giving the names of the Knights of the Order of Malta from 1099 to 1800, classified alphabetically. They are followed by the chronological list of the Grand Masters of the Order, additions and corrections with the addition of the names of the Knights of Malta between 1804 and 1843, of the Religious Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem or of Malta before the Revolution, and the Ladies decorated with the Cross of Honor and Devotion of Saint John of Jerusalem or Malta.

Book illustrated with a title vignette (medal) and two plates engraved out of text including a frontispiece.

Contemporary binding, brown half-sheepskin. Back decorated with golden irons. Caps and edges of dishes rubbed. Solid volume. Yellowed paper, good general condition.
