Remarkable African monoxyl statue with very finely carved elements. The patina is very dark: it was obtained over the years by the application of palm oil during the cult of the spirit of the bush that had settled there. Indeed, traditional figures such as this one bear, among the Baoulé, the name of Asia Usu and are intended to welcome a spirit of the bush. Flattered by the sculptural quality of the piece dedicated to him, the spirit will protect its owners. Otherwise, he will attract misfortune and bad luck on them.
