Spagyric alchemy manuscript and Paracelsian medicine. It is adorned with 13 drawings of retorts, vessels and furnaces in India ink and watercolour.
It lists many remedies for ailments such as a “plaie coulante", the "rattelle ou la douleur de la ratte", the "chaude pisse", the "morsures de bêtes venimeuses", otherwise in addition to these, remedies for “celui qui aurait tombé de bient haut et aurait craint d'avoir quelque chose de cassé".
It contains a large and very useful 5-leaf table of contents.
Beautiful, clear and legible writing, 22 lines per page.
The acidity of the ink is lightly visible on some pages, without affecting reading.
Ex-libris: Zdeněk Rüdiger. He was a collector from Prague living in the New City under the sign of the Lion (?). The engraving was done by Ladislav Novák (1925–1999) dated 1938.
Ex-libris: G. de Marliave.
Illustrated with 7 alchemical drawings signed Loüis Paula(?) with a peacock, entitled “fours et vaisseaux” (p. 188).
