Half sheepskin binding with smooth spine adorned with gilded titling. Speckled edges.
A post inspector, born in Rodez, Vaysse de Villiers (1767-1834) is best known for his Routes of France, which were very successful under the Empire and the Restoration.
A fairly well-preserved copy, lacks on the headcap and presence of some bookworm damage on the back cover. Hinge in good condition. Fairly clean inside with some pale foxing.
