Rijksdaalder 1655 - Kampen

Obverse: Bust of Emperor Ferdinand III, laureate and armoured,
with shouldered sword in his right hand and coat of arms of
Overijssel on a ribbon in the left hand within a circle.
In the outer circle the text FERD•III•D - G•ELEC•RO•IMP•SEM•AVG

Reverse: Crowned coat of arms with lion rampant to the left
16 - 55 in the field, inside a circle. The outer circle with the text:
MON•NO•CIVITATIS•IMPE•CAMPENSIS• and Kamper city gate

This coin type is an imitation of the Dutch generality Rijksdaalder, which was introduced in 1606. It was minted in only two years, namely in 1655 and 1657. Very rare.
