Octavo, 8 unnumbered ll., 272 [i.e. 273], 18 unnumbered ll. , with the two woodcuts in the text; contemporary vellum binding with embossed cover borders and corner fleurons. Cover slightly bent open. Closing bands missing. With monogram and date. Hand-engraved capitals. Paper, as almost always, slightly browned. Title page in red and black print with title woodcut missing, bound in a false copy. This copy belongs to the group of undated prints from Strasbourg printed by Fischart's brother-in-law Bernhard Jobin. (cf. Goedeke II, 499.37f.).

Author according to Holzmann/Bohatta: Isaac Rabbotenu. Isaac Rabbotenu is the pseud. of Philips van Marnix. Jesuwalt Pickhart is the pseud. of Johann Fischart.
Signature forme after ex. of the SBB: A-Z8, Aa-Oo8, Pp4 [Bl. Pp4 leer]. Foliation errors: 176 used twice in the sheet count.
Without publication note on the title page. Colophon: Printed at Christlingen near Vrsino|| Gottgwinn. Estimated year of publication given according to VD 16 M 1055
The beautiful binding bears the monogram: “AB V R” and the year “1603”. The entry is to be resolved into Abraham von Rintorff, whose name is found in old ink on the front endpaper. The name is repeated by another previous owner on the first white sheet. Probably from their own hand. The copy is from Markschie's father's library. German Germanist and professor at the Free University of Berlin.
