Gordian III (AD 238-244). Lot of 3 Æ coins:

1) Mesopotamia, Singara. Æ (27 mm, 10,42 g).
Obv: Radiate head right.
Rev: Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Tyche right, above her the centaur Sagittarius leaping right shooting how.
Ref: S. 3791; BMC 28,134; SNG Cop. 255
Provenance: Purchased in 1991 at coin fair in Antwerp

2) Mesopotamia, Edessa. Gordian III with Abgar X Phraates. Æ (24 mm, 11,48 g).
Obv: Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; star before.
Rev: Crowned and draped bust of Abgar right; star behind.
Ref: BMC 148; S.2502
Provenance: Purchased in 1961 in Damascus

3) Mesopotamia, Edessa. Gordian III with Abgar X Phraates. Æ (24 mm, 11,1 0g).
Obv: Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right; star to right.
Rev: Draped bust of Abgar right, wearing tiara; star to left.
Ref: BMC 149
Provenance: Purchased in 1961 in Damascus
