Half sheepskin binding with smooth spine adorned with gilded fleurons and titling.

François Louis Paul Gervais (26 September 1816 – 11 February 1879) was a French zoologist, paleontologist and entomologist.

A fairly well-preserved copy, minor rubbing from use on the headcap, tailcap and the spine. Sound hinge. Fresh inside, some clear foxing.
