According to Simon, the book can be attributed to the dedicatee himself, Louis-Auguste de Bourbon, Prince of Dombes, grandson of Louis XIV and of Madame de Montespan, gastronome who enjoyed participating in Louis XV’s ‘Petits Soupers.’ Republished in 1747.
