Very rare first edition of this classic recipe book, published when the widow of the famous pastry chef Friedel, M.me Utrecht, from Berlin settled in Paris after the death of her husband. The book had expansions and numerous subsequent re-editions, when it appeared with the title modified, thanks to the title acquired by its author, in "Le confiseur royale, ou l'art du confiseur,"
1 vol. in 12mo, approx. 20.7 x 13.8 cm, pp. IX 83 [5], marbled paper binding, 3 tipped-in plates with cooking tools and methods, "Table de matieres" at the end. In good condition, the cover has abrasions and small gaps at the edges, the interior is solid, well bound and in excellent condition (see photos).
