France - 19th Century - Mid to Late - officier de cavalerie légère - modèle 1822 - Sabre

Very nice sabre for an officer of the light cavalry, 1822 model - period 3rd Republic.

- curved blade with hollow side and flat back without visible markings.
- three-branched mount made of chiselled gilded brass.
- horn grip with its filigree.
- with its original strap (buffalo).
- no sheath.


The weapon is over 100 years old with handling marks and signs of ageing, old traces of corrosion (see detailed photos, which are part of the description), small stains but the sabre is still solid and in very nice aesthetic condition.
