New mint mark fire iron
The half silver real had a value of 1 ½ stuiver at the time of issue.
Obverse:Crowned coat of arms with gold plated-headed empire eagle resting on
long footed cross within a circle.
The outer circle with the text:
KAROLVS - DxGxROM - IMPxZxH - ISP′xREXX and fire iron
Reverse side: Crowned Austro-Burgundian coat of arms within a circle.
In the outer circle the text DAxMICHIxVIRTVTExCONTRAxHOSTESxTVOS and fire iron
Unlike most other regions, this coin type for names is only struck for a short period of time. This is also reflected in the production. Approx. 92.020 pieces were struck in names, while for Brabant, for example, the production amounted to 11.206.818 copies. The Namur pieces are therefore very rare at present.
