A juz’, literally translated as “part” or “subdivision”, is one of the thirty parts of variable length in which the Koran is divided. The volume contains 12 pages, 10 of which are handwritten pages with beautiful Arabic calligraphy in dark ink; the Arabic writing is translated into Persian with red ink in a double register. The text corresponds to the surah Al-Hajj and is enriched with a beautiful ‘unwan painted in natural colours. The Ayat, the verses, are marked by rosettes coloured in green. The text is complete. Beautiful and unique is the note in the left margin of the fourth page. Leather binding with embossed palmette decoration on the edge. Two owner’s stamps are stamped on the colophon.
Condition as in the photos, some loose pages and ancient restorations.
