VIOLENT LIBEL AGAINST MAGICIANS, PROPHETS AND ASTROLOGERS
"In France this astrological plague has been extinguished, instead in our Spain, in the Palaces and Courts, it influences the Kings in the properties of their subjects: it influences the Sun in the harvests and thunderstorms. Mars will no longer influence duels, Mercury robberies, nor Saturn fraud." From the introduction.

CONTENTS
Three discourses on Astrology
First discourse: Astrology is vain and ridiculous by nature. Second discourse: Astrology is false and morally dangerous. Third discourse: Astrology is useless and harmful in politics.
Martín Martínez (Madrid, 1684 - 1734) was a famous Spanish physician and philosopher, as well as one of the most important scientific innovators. He initially adopted eclectic and sceptical positions, which were manifested in his rejection of the galenic system and iatrochemistry, in favour of a practice based on experimentation and clinical observation.
