A volume of text and an oblong atlas, amateur half binding in leather, blank spine.
28 plates including a leaflet, faded covers. Rare atlas intended to illustrate the work of Gerville published in Caen, by Chalopin, between 1825 and 1830, and composed of studies mainly published in the Mémoires de la Société des Antiquaires de Normandie.
Plates 7, 8, 13, 15 and 26 are numbered by hand in pencil, there is a pl. no. 11 bis, and the last leaflet is without a number.
Most of the pl. are in lithography (by Langlumé, Engelmann in Paris or N. Périaux in Rouen), after drawings by Ed. Lambert, C. de Vauquelin, C.L. Maufras in particular.
Pl. 20 and 21, drawn and engraved on steel by E. H. Langlois, have little highlights of colour.
