Magnificent edition of Dante's Purgatory & Paradise (second and third part of the Divine
Comedie, major work of the author and world literature), illustrated with 60 plates by
Gustave Doré out of text and mounted on China accompanied by captioned protective pages.
Skilfully restored binding, the original blind-stamped red percaline & ornate on the front cover and spine with the gilded title and authors preserved, the endpapers were replaced.
Scattered spots of foxing, otherwise crisp and clean inside.
In good overall condition.
