This pamphlet bears the English mark of anti-papism. It was also translated to the Italian. The author analyzes conflictual and irreconcilable accounts between Catholics and Protestants. And as the title indicates, ready to take the risk of sounding anachronistic, this text could be used as a preface to the debates on Church and State, and why not to the Marxist precepts of religion as the opiate of the people. This volume belonged to Jacques Antoine Rabaut-Pommier, brother of the revolutionary and member of a family of pastors.
