The Web - Theraphosa Blondi - LP Album - 1st Stereo pressing - 1968/1968

The Web ‎– "Theraphosa Blondi" - this first original stereo pressing was issued in the UK 1969 on Deram SML-R 1058. It was released in a cover laminated on front only. The back cover shows an ''indicator hole'' to let the inner sleeve peep through: blue = stereo, red = mono. The original inner sleeve is included. The vinyl is in Ex condition, and the cover is VG+ - it has some wear, but no real flaws at all. Overall I attach an excellent rating.

the music? psychedelic blues rock, but there is also jazz and brass band influences. A great record, let's highlight some songs. "'Til I come home again once more" sounds a bit like early Cat Stevens. "Blues for Two T's" with a driving flute and a bluesy feeling could have been early Jethro Tull. The saxophone on "Like the man said" is just great. "One thousand miles away" is has some Caribbean melancholy. "Tobacco Road/America" reminds of Leonard Bernstein's "America" like The Nice did. This record is very close to perfection.
