In-8, two manuscript sheets in ink,
The Consul of France asks for the solidarity of the other Consuls following his forced summons following the "Pierre" affair: the Consulate of France had defended the cause of a cook from Martinique whom the American authorities had wanted to sell as a slave during his landing in New Orleans. This letter is addressed among others to the Consuls of Spain, England, Prussia, the Hanseatic cities and Russia.
