Beautiful edition of the Works of J.J. Rousseau given by Deterville and printed by Didot in 18 vol. in-8 on white laid paper.
Illustrated by Moreau, Monsieur, Cochin with 19/20 plates including the frontispiece portrait and 29 music plates including 15 folding ones (in the volumes of the music dictionary);
Bindings of good quality in aubergine glazed half-calf, smooth spine decorated with gilded irons.
Very good general condition, clean copy, solid bindings, the leather has some handling defects: rubbing, micro tear without lack in the head cover of volume 4. Fresh and clean interior, some very rare marginal foxing. In volume 2 a halo in the margin of pp619-642, in volume 13 a very discreet trace of wetting in the margin of the last approx. 15 sheets.
