There are 24 numbered text pages and fourteen color woodcuts on two pages. The fourteen double-page plates (28 pp) and the front and back covers (4 pages) are not numbered. The cover is a single-page color woodcut. It presents a monkey operating a projector (magic lantern). The cover woodcut and the 14 inner double-page woodcuts all have the artist's seal (han). There are 18 small black and white woodcuts of birds, animals and plants scattered throughout the book. ~ State. The book is in very good condition. Front and back covers have heavy foxing. Inside there are light foxing scattered mainly on the edges and in the outer margins of the pages
